Welcome to your personal skincare journey, where science creates healthy beautiful skin.

I am a highly qualified skin therapist with two decades of experience in skin health and beauty. I am always learning and always will – our skin is a fascinating organ, and we continuously discover more about it.

My Services

Assessment

Your own skin story is the one and only

  • Every skin journey starts with an accurate and detailed assessment during the initial consultation.
  • We will review your recent and current skincare concerns and previous treatments. This will help determine the home care and treatment plan. Everyone’s skin has its own story; hence the individual approach is the key.
  • You will receive a written report summarizing our initial appointment with your own “story,” suggestions for the home skincare based on active ingredients and explanations of why and how you should use these products.

Consultation

  • Consultation is the first and foremost step to healthy and happy skin. At SkinGuru, we start with a 60-minute initial consultation that includes observing and assessing the client’s skin and discussing concerns and previous skincare history, conditions, and treatments.
  • We will chat about skin anatomy, skin health and needs and talk about skincare used in the past. It will help determine the initial treatment and home care regimen based on the order of priorities.
  • Before the consultation, the client will be asked to fill out the questionary form and receive a written summary at the end with a detailed explanation of their conditions, suggestions for specific products or additional tips on implementing their current skincare with new recommended products.
  • The consultation fee is $60, which is waived when purchasing the products or treatments.
  • I  stay connected with my clients 24/7 and do my best to make you feel confident and comfortable on your skin journey- you never feel alone!

Peels: to peel or not to peel?

  • With the growing interest in our industry, the variety of peels is more remarkable than ever.
  • The Internet offers millions of peels with a significant percentage of acids in them.
  • Unfortunately, it often does more harm than good. Without proper knowledge of skin anatomy and physiology, skin cell metabolism etc., “DO YOUR OWN” peels can potentially bring very unpleasant outcomes, such as PIHP (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), skin barrier disruption, breakouts, TEWL (transepidermal water loss).
  • I offer you a safe and healthy approach with carefully selected enzymatic, chemical and herbal peels that will transform your skin from within.
  • Initial consultation before the peel is provided as well as post peel recommendations.

Laser/IPL Hair Reduction

  • Over two decades, hair reduction with LASER or IPL equipment has taken a leading position in this field of the beauty industry. These safe and effective procedures help with unwanted hair on exposed and non-exposed areas, reduce irritation from shaving or waxing and ingrown hair and help skin heal from dryness and sensitivity caused by shaving or waxing.
  • While there is a difference between these two technologies, they still pursue the same goal- to destroy the hair follicle without any damage to the skin; eventually, the hair growth will significantly decrease, leaving the skin smooth and silky.
In general, individuals will need 10-14 treatments every 4-8weeks  to achieve a remarkable reduction of hair by 70-90%. This might mean a course duration of approximately two years. With each and every treatment, the hair will grow less, it will appear thinner, lighter and more sparse. It is essential to remember that hormonal areas (face, tummy, upper arms for ladies; and back, shoulders and faces for gentlemen) might need more treatments. The maintenance of these areas will also require more frequent sessions (once in a couple of months for the face versus once a year for the armpits, legs or bikini line, for example).
  • Individual consultation is the first step, and it comes up with all the information and the patch test- this will help determine the right setting for your skin type and hair. The consultation fee is $50 and is redeemed on the payment for the first treatment.

Vitamin Infusions

  • One of the great ways to energize the skin, boost cell metabolism, improve blood circulation and waste removal is the topical application of vitamins, antioxidants, and peptides.
  • Refreshing, hydrating, pampering and motivating treatment to create even healthier skin!

Bright and even!

  • Uneven skin tone is one of the biggest challenges people come across.
  • The roots of this condition can take us a few years or even a few decades back in time, and a hasty decision “to peel off ” or to do microdermabrasion will increase the inflammation in the skin tissues.
  • We will discuss your own story of hyperpigmentation and do our best to understand how we can control melanogenesis -the formation and distribution of melanin in the skin- and create a more even, healthy, radiant appearance.

Microdermaplaning for peach fuzz and exfoliation

  • Microdermaplaning or epidermal levelling has gained its share of popularity over the last few years.
  • In simple words, microdermaplaning is an exfoliation and removal of dead cells, fuzzy facial hair and sebum build-up. This treatment grants incredibly smooth and silky skin in appearance and touch, enhancing the absorption of topical nutrients.
  • Note: this procedure, however, emphasizes all blemishes on the skin surface, so it is recommended to bring skin to optimal conditions first.

Problem Skin

  • I often get asked about the problem skin. Unfortunately, one of the major obstacles to the successful resolution of those concerns is the incorrect diagnosis and inappropriate treatment methods, often involving a rough scenario of over-exfoliation or overuse of harsh ingredients.
  • The crucial point to remember is that problem skin is not only an exterior look-there may be other factors contributing to problem skin, like gut health, hormonal changes, emotional stress, environmental damage, lifestyle, etc.
  • Sometimes medication may be required. In most cases, though, habits and lifestyle may need reconsidering, and always being consistent and diligent  with your skincare protection and prevention. Positive changes take time and effort, occasionally a regression might occur, but I am here to support you on that journey.
